How are you? Today let's look at a concept related to what we've been learning about with the offshore base station in class - a space elevator.

Look at the pictures below. They show some different ideas about the concept of a space elevator and the engineering and mechanics for it.
This activity is related to our textbook, both to the part about space elevators and the part about offshore base stations.
As you talk about the solutions for the part on the offshore base station, do any of the following pictures help give you hints about the solutions? Talk about the pictures themselves. What do they show? How do they connect as ideas to the offshore base station?
